Hanson at Taste of Syracuse, NY

You didn’t think my adventuring would stop just because I justtttt finished driving cross country, did you?
What felt like almost immediately upon arriving back in Rhode Island, Hanson was playing a free concert in Syracuse, NY as part of the Taste of Syracuse. I convinced my friend — a little begrudgingly — to come with me on this 5 hour drive and off we went.
The morning started early but not without getting coffee first. We popped in at Borealis in Bristol, RI which is quickly becoming one of my favorite local spots. I was even able to order a breakfast sandwich here that came on suspiciously good gluten free bread.
We drove up the same day as the concert and the drive itself was easy and breezy. We made a pitstop at the Mohawk Valley Welcome Center which was a great little rest stop with limited food and coffee, but more importantly clean bathrooms. The beautiful view didn’t hurt either!
Our hotel was just okay (watch the vlog if you wanna know more but it wasn’t good enough to link!) but it was within walking distance of the event so it worked out really well for the one night!
Overall The Taste of Syracuse was wonderful and the live bands were incredible all day long. We do wish it was a little bit easier to try samples at each of the food trucks. Long lines and crowds meant you had to be selective which trucks you chose to stand in line for because it was a commitment. But it’s fine because we were really here for Hanson.
The show was high energy and so much fun! At one point it even started to rain and dancing at concerts in the rain is seriously one of my favorite things ever. So needless to say, that wasn’t a bad thing!
After the show my spidey senses were telling me to look for an Isaac guitar pick, we had seen him throw one our way and I was certain it was still around. Welp, always trust your gut because it paid off!
Once we gathered ourselves and said our goodbyes to friends we meandered around looking for a place to eat. We ended up eating at Maxwells, which felt more like a bar vibe than a food place but they surprisingly had a great menu including GF buns for burgers…what?! Yes please!
In the morning before leaving we stopped at The Sweet Praxis thanks to a recommendation from my friend Amanda (thanks Amanda!). Oh my word. If you’re looking for gluten free breakfast in Syracuse, NY, friends, this is the place. Their gluten free biscuits were incredible but they have tons of baked goods and pastries that are gluten free and I even took a small box home with me because how often can a gluten free girlie fill a box of goods in one spot?! But also their Bumble Brew (cold brew with oat milk, local honey and salt was so good I had to order a second one before we hit the road!)
